St. Pius X Golden Lions (2-0) AAA Region 6 Coach: Paul Standard Notes: Coach Standard has been the head man at St. Pius X, GA since 2001 and has accumulated a (98-34) record in that time. They have gone (12-1) twice once in 2009 and last season. There high powered rushing attack and hardnosed defense is off to a blistering pace having outscored their first two opponents 71 to 17. If you like teams that really pound the ball and hit through the whistle then the Golden Lions are the team to watch. Thomson Bulldogs (2-0) (AAA Region 3) Coach: Milan Turner Notes: Coach Turner has the Bulldogs off to a great start having already beaten last year's GHSA AAA State Champion Burke County 21 to 14. Last week his high powered offense racked up 706 yards of total offense in 51 to 27 win over Lakeside, GA. If Coach Turner's name sounds familiar it should. He led ECI to a (65-12) record from 2005 to 2010. In that time he won a GHSA State Championship in 2007.
