DAVID ASH NAMED
DAVEY O'BRIEN QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK
September 17, 2012
FORT WORTH, Texas - Sophomore David Ash has been named the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week after leading Texas to a 66-31 victory over Ole Miss. The win gave the Longhorns their sixth consecutive 3-0 start.
Ash had an outstanding night, finishing 19-of-23 for a career-high 326 yards and four touchdowns, including 46 and 55-yard scores. The Texas native looked extremely confident in the pocket, and at one point tallied 15 consecutive completions.
"He's been doing great all of these games we've had so far," said offensive guard Trey Hopkins. "He really took charge of the huddle, took charge of the game in general. He led us out there, and as you can see, it worked for us."
