NJCAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

The National Underclassmen would like to recognize some of the top Junior College performers from this this past week. We are looking for players whose team participates in the NJCAA. Their performance needs to aid their respective school in victory to be considered for this weekly award. Just remember if your goal of playing FBS or FCS football is derailed junior college football may be the avenue to get it back on track. All former NUC participants have an asterisk by their name.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

 Quez Johnson, QB, East Mississippi Community College, MS- Johnson completed 30 of 44 passes for 381 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 114 yards and three scores in 56 to 49 shootout victory over Northwest Mississippi Community College. Through eight games Johnson has completed 159 of 280 passes for 2,112 yards and 24 touchdowns versus six picks. On the ground he has run for 299 yards while scoring nine times. East Mississippi is currently (8-0) and ranked #3 in the latest NJCAA Poll.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Quad Freeman, LB, Itawamba Community College, MS- This active linebacker was in on 17 tackles four of which were sacks in 36 to 15 win over Northeast Mississippi Community College. In eight games Freeman has recorded 44 solo tackles, 23 assisted tackles, 14.5 TFL's, and 9.5 Sacks. Itawamba Community College is currently (5-3) on the season.

 

OTHER GREAT PERFORAMNCES IN A WINNING EFFORT

Arizona Western College, AZ

Tanner McEvoy*, QB- McEvoy completed 17 of 20 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for a score in 78 to 20 beat down of Mesa CC, AZ.

 

ASA College, NY

Zedrick Gardner, DB- Gardner was in on ten solo tackles, one TFL, and one PBU in 24 to 10 win over Erie CC, NY.

Butler Community College, KS

Javess Blue, WR- He snagged 16 passes for 175 yards and two scores in 45 to 13 win over bitter rival Coffeyville CC, KS.

Marcus Dillard, DB- Dillard was in on four stops and had two picks in the big win over the Ravens of Coffeyville CC, KS.

 

East Mississippi Community College, MS

Justin Cox, DB- Cox was in on six tackles and recorded two interceptions in 56 to 49 win over Northwest Mississippi CC, MS.

Ellsworth Community College, IA

Jordan Doyle, QB- Doyle completed 23 of 39 passes for 236 yards and four scores while also rushing for 89 yards in 43 to 28 win over North Dakota State College of Science, ND.

 

Garden City Community College, KS

Nick Marshall, QB- Marshall completed 17 of 27 passes for 298 and three touchdowns while also running for 72 yards and a score in 61 to 20 win over Dodge City Community College, KS.

 

Hutchinson Community College, KS

Terrell Lane, RB- Lane carried the ball 29 times for 220 yards and one score in 37 to 14 win over Ft. Scott CC, KS.

Dominique Terrell, DB- Terrell was in on 12 tackles, 2.5 TFL's, and picked off a pass in 37 to 14 win over Ft. Scott CC, KS.

Iowa Western Community College, IA

Deon Long*, WR- Long caught 12 passes for 216 yards and three scores in 73 to 7 win over Iowa Central CC. IA.

Jake Waters, QB- Waters completed 29 of 35 passes for 428 yards and five touchdowns while also rushing for a score in blowout win over Iowa Central CC, IA.

 

Jones County Community College, MS

Reuben Ducksworth, RB- He carried the ball 18 times for 160 yards and two scores in 34 to 0 win over Southwest Mississippi CC, MS.

Damien Wilson*, LB- Wilson recorded 12 solo tackles, four assisted tackles, and one TFL in shutout win over Southwest Mississippi CC, MS.

Lackawanna College, PA

DeChaven Hayes, RB- Hayes had 22 totes for 225 yards and two scores in 48 to 10 win over Monroe College, NY.

Felix Small*, DL- Small was in on seven tackles, five TFL's, and four sacks in 48 to 10 win over Monroe College, NY.

Louisburg College, NC

Jeff Richardson, DB- Richardson was in on seven tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one PBU, and had two picks in 30 to 0 win over Hudson Valley Community College, NY.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, MS

Dhaquille Williams, WR- Williams had eight catches for 174 yards and two scores in 54 to 21 win over Copiah-Lincoln CC, MS.

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, OK

George Rogers, LB- Rogers was in on 12 tackles, two TFLs, and one PBU in 49 to 21 win over Cisco College, TX.

 

Pear River Community College, MS

Leon Carlton, III, DB- He was in on eight tackles, three PBU's, and one pick in 37 to 7 win over East Central CC, MS.

Emmanuel Ray, DB- Ray also had eight stops, three PBU's and one pick as the Pearl River CC secondary shutdown East Central CC, MS 37 to 7.

Snow College, UT

Breon Allen*, RB- Allen carried the ball 27 times for 158 yards and one score while also catching three passes for 27 yards and a score in 45 to 27 win over NMMI, NM.

Damond Powell*, WR- Powell had five catches for 136 yards and three scores in 45 to 27 win over New Mexico Military Institute, NM.
