David Schuman runs the country's largest high school football combine and recruitment showcase, the National Underclassmen Combine (NUC). Attended by thousands of student-athletes all across the country, NUC helps level the recruiting playing field by giving talented high school football players in every region, an opportunity to showcase their skills and provide them the opportunity to be recruited. With an unprecedented 418% growth since its inception, NUC is set to exceed all expectations this year. With 180 national football combines in 2010, 15 Ultimate 100 camps, a Top Prospect Camp along with a list of unparalleled partners and sponsors, NUC is the ultimate in High School Athletics recruitment showcase. In 2009 over 17,000 athletes from grades 8 through 11 participated. During the past five years, more than 2,000 NUC participants have received scholarship offers and thousands of others have gone on to play college football. Some of the country's top college football stars have also gone through Schuman's National Underclassmen Combine camps.
Along with running the NUC, Coach Schuman is head coach at Palisades Park/Leonia High School after coaching at his alma mater, Saddle Brook High School in Saddle Brook, New Jersey where his creative offensive mind and ability to relate to players have allowed them to post some great victories and grow some D-1 talents. Prior to becoming head coach at Saddle Brook, Coach Schuman worked minor miracles everyday as the Speed and Strength Trainer at Schuman's Elite Training. At the same time, he was the Track and Field Coach as well as the Football Assistant Coach. Schuman is an X's and O's guy who knows first what it takes to be a star athlete. A former football standout, Schuman was a High School 1st Team All American in Football as a Running Back. He was also 3rd All State in New Jersey as a Running Back; was state High Hurdle Champ and school record holder in High Hurdles, as well as 7th time All County Team representative in Football and Track. Coach Schuman earned a full athletic scholarship to University of Connecticut (UCONN) where he was a starting linebacker under Coach Skip Holtz. At UCONN, he earned three letters and was second on the team in tackles as a senior and earned the Kendall Madison Award for top student athlete.

As a result of his own success on and off the field, Coach Schuman decided to create NUC in order to train young athletes whom often lacked the access. He wanted to provide talented high school football players from all socio-economic backgrounds, from inner cities to suburbs, all across the country the opportunity to showcase their skills without bias and to provide them early exposure to top colleges. As a result of this vision, Schuman's National Underclassmen Combine was created in 2005. Within five years, NUC has hosted more than 30,000 high school football players with more than 17,000 athletes in 2009 alone. Schuman's National Underclassmen Combine events reach more athletes and cities than any other service in the country and provide the best competition, coaching and exposure nationwide. No one provides more national exposure for high school football prospects than NUC, offering direct contact with college coaches through promotions, access and early exposure.
Schuman's NUC is the only company that provides nationwide events for high school freshmen and sophomores. Coach Schuman takes pride in educating NUC's athletes on how to succeed on and off the field. Along with athletic skill training and information, NUC also provides multiple programs to help prepare players for the events and educate them on the complexities of the recruiting process. NUC has also implemented multiple social networking and video based tools to provide players more exposure than ever. No other organization provides continuous and widespread exposure via web, email, social networking, and flagship site promotions. Some of today's top college recruits have gone through Schuman's NUC, from University of Florida's Joe Haden, Virginia Tech's Tyrod Taylor, Clemson's Tajh Boyd, Scott Vallone at Rutgers, to Ohio's Gerald Moore.

Coach Schuman is the heartbeat, energy and drive of the NUC; he's also a sought-after football analyst and expert on high school and college games as well as the recruiting process. His years of coaching and recruiting experience make him highly knowledgeable and regarded among coaches both at the collegiate and professional levels, as well as sports media outlets. Coach Schuman was a Dean's List student-athlete who earned both a Bachelors and Master's degrees at UConn. After graduation, he worked as a strategic business analyst for a top technology solutions company. Coach Schuman also enrolled at Columbia University for a second Master's Degree at Columbia's prestigious teaching college before opening his own business, Schuman's Training School, where he trained some of the country's top high school, college and professional athletes.
So how has NUC changed Coach Schuman's own perception of athletics? "It has helped me to understand how every interaction, every moment, and event time you are with a kid you have a chance to impact their lives and NUC gives us the opportunity to impact tens of thousands of athletes every year in a positive way," states Schuman. He continues to positively shape the lives of thousands of today's and tomorrow's football stars through his dedication, knowledge and unmatched insight. As a born competitor who never rests on yesterday's success, Coach Schuman plans to continue to develop NUC's programs and events as the NUC has become THE go-to place for top high school football players and a valuable resource for college coaches all across the country that are looking for top ready recruits.
