Joining the world of the All-American Bowl Game is not something one decides overnight.  For NUC Founder and President, Coach David Schuman, creating the NUC All-World Gridiron Classic was part of a natural process. "We have had so many outstanding athletes come to our combines; we felt it was best to start our own game.  Since we have such great relationships with so many players, we wanted to showcase them in a worldwide manner." Unlike most high School all-star games which get players that scouts and other analyst have already deemed great, NUC takes pride in being part of the process in the growth of its student athletes.  Schuman and his staff of veteran coaches met many of the players in their freshmen and sophomore years, before these rising standouts were even on the recruiting radar.

The NUC All-World Gridiron Classic offers a bit more than the average high school bowl game. Expanding the all-star high school game experience to include international players is one thing that sets the All-World Classic Game apart.  "We have players from Canada, Croatia, and Australia.  The international feel makes it different and the pitting of two great coaching staffs against each other, the World and the NUC," said Coach Schuman.  The All-World Gridiron Classic Game features veteran high school coaches as well as former Division One standouts.  "Our coaching staff is amazing.  Jeff Dicus, the Duncanville High School head coach.  Texas is on one side and Rodney Saulsbury of Whitehaven, Tennessee on the other. They are gentlemen who have won numerous state championships in their time. Assistant coach wise, we have Shane Stafford (former Uconn star and Arena Football QB) doing quarterbacks;  Jayson Swain, former Tennessee star at wide receiver, Tyrone Timmons, current Arena Tampa Storm star doing wide receiver, and much much more."

Unlike other high school bowl games that feature only seniors, National Underclassmen has always provided exposure for underclassmen talents. Making them a part of the All-World Gridiron Classic experience and spotlighting these young talents is what NUC does.  "We always want to give kids the opportunity to showcase themselves, and the events do that."

The game is set to feature some of the best and top recruits in high school football chosen from the National Underclassmen Combine events, high school coaches' recommendations and the recruiting networks like rivals.com.  Though the National Underclassmen got a late start on recruiting players for the game, they were able to secure some of the most sought after stars in high school football. "The top players in the world are featured.  So many standouts come to mind like Johnny Manziel, amazing QB going to Texas A and M, Kadetrix Marcus, going to South Carolina at safety, and wide receiver Junior Pomeau going to Florida is among some of the mega stars. You have Jabari Hunt-Days, linebacker going to Georgia Tech and Amarlo Herrera, linebacker going to Georgia, at offensive line.  You have Watts Dantzler going to Georgia." International standouts include Tyler Varga and Tevaun Smith from Canada.

With the NUC being a family-oriented organization, it was important to find a location that was football and family-friendly, especially on New Year's Eve, and The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina became the unquestionable fit.  "The City of Charleston matches old world southern charm with a modern flourishing city with great history and culture. It is the number two tourist spot in the USA, with beaches and history. The Citadel is a special place with its military backdrop and amazing stadium. It is the perfect place for inaugural game," said Schuman.

Coach Schuman and his staff are working to make the NUC All-World Gridirion Classic a memorable event. "Hopefully, it is a great experience, intense competition, a family atmosphere, and the best damn week of football in the world."  The NUC All-World Gridiron Classic will be televised live on Fox College Sports on Friday, December 31st at 6pm ET, as well as on Fox Radio Charleston, and highlights streamed at Nationalunderclassmen.com and youtube.  So what can players, families and fans expect from next year's All-World Gridiron Classic? "Great players, bigger stage, and the most exciting all star game in high school."
