With high school football nearing season's end, National Underclassmen Combine founder and President Dave Schuman analyzed the best players nationwide. After countless hours studying film, Schuman presents his top 10 players by region - here's the Southwest:

 

10 A) Thomas Johnson -Wide Receiver-Skyline (TX)

  • Excellent penetrating tackle.
  • Can play nose if he puts on weight.
 

9) Barry Sanders Jr. - Running Back - Heritage Hill (OK)

  • Amazing change of direction skills.
  • Rushed for over 4500 career yards and 80 touchdowns.

  • Incredible scrambling ability.
  • A playmaker.
  • 25 combined touchdowns as a senior.

  • 3.1 GPA
  • Combined for over 40 touchdowns his senior year between rushing and passing.
 

6) Kennedy Estelle - Offensive Tackle - Dawson (TX)

  • Great use of hands.
  • Strong punch.
 

5) Javonte Magee -Defensive End-Sam Houston (TX)

41 offers, highlighted by LSU and Florida State.

  • Great first step.
  • Projects to strong side end.
 


4) Cayleb Jones -Wide Receiver-Austin (TX)

  • Excellent end zone threat.
  • Compared to Dolphins Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall.

  • Great blend of speed and size.
  • Posted 75 catches for over 1000 yards and nine TDs as a senior.
 

3) Jonathan Gray - RB - Aledo (TX)

  • Home-run hitter out of the backfield.
  • Great speed once he turns the corner.
  • Superb vision.
  • Rushed for almost 3900 yards and 65 touchdowns as a senior, an incredible 11.2 average.
 

2) Mario Edwards -Defensive End - Ryan (TX)

  • Speed rusher with great quickness.

  • Recorded 11 sacks and 32 tackles for loss as a senior.
