Current Leaders in the NUC Team Recruiting Rankings Let's take a look at the current National Underclassmen Team Recruiting Rankings. As of August, 21, 2012 the current NUC Top25 team rankings are listed below. Currently the Trojans of USC lead Michigan by two and a half points. The rest of the Top5 rounds out with Notre Dame coming in at #3, Texas at #4, and Ohio State at #5. The SEC leads the way with nine teams ranked in the NUC Top25. The PAC10 and the ACC have five teams each in the NUC Top25 followed closely by the Big10 with four. How does the point system work? Each player listed in a Regional Ranking receives one point. If that same player is also listed in the NUC Ultimate160 they receive an additional half a point. All players in the current NUC JUCO Top25 also receive a half point towards their teams recruiting rankings. If more than one team has the same total of recruiting points the one with the most NUC Ultimate160 players will break the tie. How many ranked players are still left undecided? The rankings will be redone two more times prior to signing day next February. There are still 121 regionally ranked players that have not made a decision. Of the 120 regionally ranked players that have yet to decide 42 of them are also ranked in the NUC Ultimate160. That means there are still 141 points left undecided. 17 of the NUC JUCO Top25 players have yet to decide their college future leaving an additional 8.5 points up for grabs. |
