NUC FBS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
How does one become the NUC FBS Player of the Week? First of all the player has to have attended at least one NUC sponsored event. Secondly the player has to help lead his team to victory over another FBS opponent. This week two individuals helped their school snap long losing streaks with their performance. Both players helped non-BCS schools beat BCS football teams.
Offensive Player of the Week
Chuckie Keeton, QB, Utah State
Keaton completed 22 of 32 passes for 216 yards and two scores. He also rushed for 86 yards and one score in 27 to 20 OT win over in-state rival Utah. The Aggies had lost the previous 12 games versus the Utes. This game was also played in front of the first sellout crowd in Logan, Utah since 1992.
Defensive Player of the Week
Julius White, III, DB, Rice
White recorded 11 tackles and had 1.5 TFL's in 25 to 24 win over the Kansas Jayhawks. Rice was (0-20) over Big12 teams since 1996. This was the first matchup ever between the two teams in the regular season. They had only played once before and that was in the 1961 Bluebonnet Bowl which Kansas won 33 to 7.
