NUC High School Rankings
Week 5
Four teams fell from grace this past week in the NUC High School Top25. The media darling Grayson (GA) Rams fell to Parkview, GA 22 to 7. Parkview had not scored an offensive touchdown in their first two games. Skyline, TX lost in a shootout to Arlington Bowie, TX 38 to 36. Bishop Gorman, NV fell at home to Bergen Catholic, NJ 42 to 35. All three of these teams are still receiving votes for the Top25. Finally Walton, GA was hammered 49 to 17 by North Cobb, GA.
Entering the NUC Top25 for the first time is Bergen Catholic, NJ at #22 for their huge win over Bishop Gorman, NV. Ensworth, TN comes in at #23 as they have outscored their five opponents 233 to 69. At #24 are the Raiders of Bolingbrook, IL last year's Large School State Champion. Finally the Technicians of Cass Tech, MI take up the last spot having outscored their opponents 172 to 38 this season.
The player of the week goes to Ensworth, TN superstar Corn Elder who ran for 296 yards and four scores in 42 to 17 win over Baylor, TN. There are two really good matchups to keep an eye on this week. #3 Santa Margarita Catholic, CA takes on an undefeated St. Bonaventure, CA squad. DeSoto, TX who jumped up to #18 in the country plays bitter rival Cedar Hill, TX. And though the Longhorns are (1-2) they have lost to #17 Allen, TX and BT Washington, FL. These two schools are just six miles apart.
