WEEK 6

NUC High School Rankings

Fumbles, interceptions, penalties, and poor special teams caused five teams to drop out of the NUC High School Top25. The Cincinnati powerhouses have begun knocking each other off as St. Xavier, OH beat Moeller, OH 49 to 21.  Lake Travis, TX lost to A&M Consolidated, TX 30 to 28 that's like Texas A&M beating Texas. Oaks Christian, CA seemed to be confused with the jersey colors as they threw five picks in loss to Crenshaw, CA. The Crusaders of Bergen Catholic, NJ missed an extra point in overtime to lose to St. Joseph Regional, NJ. Finally Cass Tech apparently did not like the Red Turf of St. Mary's Prep, MI as they fell 13 to 6.

Taking advantage of the miscues made by others are two schools from California, and one each from Arkansas, Georgia, and Mississippi. The Gauchos of Narbonne, CA come in at #21 having outscored their opponents 180 to 13 this season.  They are followed by last year's Large School Champion in Mississippi the Olive Branch Conquistadors. In at #23 is the other West Coast team, Vista Murrieta, CA who are averaging over 40 points per game. The Lassiter Trojans of Marietta, Georgia are next hitting over 42 points per contest. Taking up the last spot in the NUC High School Top25 this week is Bentonville, AR. The Tigers have beaten Rockhurst, MO; South Panola, MS; and Broken Arrow, OK this season.

There are four great matchups that could disrupt the NUC High School Top25 this week. #13 Camden County plays their first ever AAAAAA Region 1 game as they travel east to take on the Valdosta Wildcats. In the Lone Star state it is a battle of unbeaten as the #15 Allen Eagles visit the Coppell Cowboys. In Illinois #20 Bolingbrook travels to Lincoln-Way East with the winner gaining the inside track on the league title. The high flying Gauchos of Narbonne, CA host an undefeated Mater Dei, CA set on staking their claim as one of the best teams in Southern California.

This week's "Player of the Week" for the NUC High School Top25 is junior signal caller Desmond White of DeSoto, TX. White completed 20 of 32 passes for 339 yards and two scores. He also added 68 yards and two scores on the ground to help his team beat bitter rival Cedar Hill, TX 48 to 35.
