2012 NUC FCS POLL
Week 9
Five teams in the NUC FCS Top25 fell this past weekend but only two teams dropped out of the rankings. Harvard blew a big lead giving up 29 fourth quarter points to Princeton in 39 to 34 loss. Though the Towson Tigers have had one of the toughest schedules in FCS they have been unable to come up with a signature win. Towson fell this past week to #8 ranked Old Dominion.
Replacing those two teams in the new NUC FCS Top25 are Tennessee-Martin and Richmond. The Skyhawks continue to win this week beating Southeastern Missouri State 27 to 17. The Spiders had a huge win over heated rival James Madison 35 to 29. Those victories put them #24 and #25 respectively in the new poll.
There is a huge Colonial Athletic Association matchup this week. The #8 ranked Monarchs of Old Dominion host the #22 ranked Blue Hens of Delaware. A loss by Delaware would crush any hopes of making the FCS playoffs this year.
We have a repeat winner of the NUC FCS Player of the Week. NUC alum Taylor Heinicke completed 26 of 39 passes for 264 yards and one score while also rushing for 71 yards and two scores in 31 to 20 win over Towson.
