Greensboro, NC 11th Grade NUC Schuman's Outstanding Performance List |
Daniel Nash Holly Springs HS, NC, LB, 6-2, 197, Overall MVP |
Nash put up solid numbers across the board for a linebacker. He ran a 4.78 40, 4.37 shuttle while broad jumping 9-3. But it was his effort, athletic ability, and determination that allowed him to shine above all others. His skill set makes him the ideal OLB prospect. |
Grant Dawson Reagan HS, NC, LB, 6-0, 224, LB MVP & Strongest Man |
Where Nash was your typical OLB, Dawson has your ideal size and strength to play MLB at the next level. He has that width and strength to bounce around the tackle box and keep would-be-blockers off his body. He ran a 4.81 40, 4.52 shuttle, and had a 34-inch vertical. But it was his 32 reps of 185-pounds that wowed the crowd. |
Corey Deron Wright Middle Creek HS, NC, RB, 5-8, 192, RB MVP |
Wright has an excellent build to become an every down back that can run between the tackles. He runs with conviction and possesses soft hands. He also had a nice bench whacking out 24 reps of 185-pounds. |
Kendall Williamson Bartlett Yancey HS, NC, DL, 5-11, 271, DL MVP |
This nose tackle has power and quickness. He benched 185-pounds 17 times while running a solid 5.39 40 yard dash. He was able to get underneath the defender and use his hands as weapons to keep the offensive lineman from slowing him down. |
Demetrius Wilkins Middle Creek HS, NC, WR, 6-2-1/2, 194 |
Soft hands and size are his two best assets. As he made it hard on smaller defensive backs to keep him from making a play on the ball. He also has some hops with a 27.5-inch vertical. |
Bryson Claiborne Bartlett Yancey HS, NC, DL, 6-0-1/2, 108, Leadership Award. |
Claiborne had an excellent all around day. He not only did a nice job as a pass rushing hybrid LB/DE he led by example. Because of him the lineman one-on-ones were heated yet spirited. The other linemen just fed off of his adrenaline. |
Tanner Poindexter Reagan HS, NC, OL, 6-2-1/2, 297, OL MVP |
Poindexter took on all comers in the one-on-ones. He used his superior size and strength to keep defensive lineman from collapsing the pocket. He benched 185-pounds 29 times while shuttling a solid 5.0. |
Sam Whitley Eastern Randolph HS, NC, QB, 5-11, 162, QB MVP |
Whitley could really sling the ball all over the field. He did a nice job spinning the ball making it very catchable for the receivers. He can see the whole field and does not just lock in on one target. |
Ryan Dobey North Davidson HS, NC, S, 5-9-1/2, 151, DB MVP |
Dobey put up some good testing numbers running a 4.77 40, 4.19 shuttle, and a 30-inch vertical. He proved to have hips on a swivel and ball skills. |
Donald Alexander Overhills HS, NC, WR, 5-10-1/2, 173, Combine King |
Alexander proved to be the best tester of the day with a 4.6 40, 4.39 shuttle, 9-11 BJ, 32.5-inch vertical, and he benched 185 19 times. This kid has it all for his skill set. He was also able to get deep most of the day. |
Henry Smith Athens Drive HS, NC, WR, 5-10, 159, Fastest Man |
Smith just edged out Alexander with a 4.59 40. He also put up a 4.19 shuttle, and a 27.5-inch BJ. He was another receiver that made the defensive backs think twice about press coverage. |
