QB's Lead The Way in California
CALIFORNIA AM SESSION, JUNE 2,
2007, CARSON, CALIFORNIA
After earlier hitting up the Los
Angeles area, the National
Underclassmen Combine this time made
a visit to Caron, California. The
talent was impressive during both
sessions, and leading the way in the
early session was Overall MVP QB
Duke Delancellotti, a sophomore from
San Clemente High School in
California. Delancellotti,
5-foot-10 ½ and 166-pounds, was a
very accurate passer throughout the
session and showed both phenomenal
passing skills and athleticism. He
had a 25.5-inch vertical, 83
broad, 4.72 shuttle, and 4.94 40.
Another quarterback who excelled was
MVP sophomore Keith Price of St.
John Bosco High School in
California. Price, 6-foot-0 and
170-pounds, is an accurate passer
with great footwork, and he had a
26-inch vertical, 4.91 40, and 4.69
shuttle.
The OL MVP went to sophomore Noel
Beckles of Verbum High School in
California. Beckles, 5-foot-11 ½
and 291-pounds, was fantastic during
the 1-on-1s, and had a 5.63
shuttle, 6.06 40, and 65 broad.
Another offensive lineman who stood
out was sophomore Michael Sikorski
of Chaparral High School in
California. Sikorski, 5-foot-11 and
246-pounds, has very good technique
and skills, plus had a 5.15 40, 78
broad, 5.13 shuttle, and 24 reps on
185-pounds.
Winning the WR MVP was freshman
Robert Woods of Serra High School in
California. Woods, 5-foot-11 and
168-pounds, has great route running
ability and impressive speed in and
out of his breaks. He also had a
28-inch vertical, 4.59 40, 88
broad, 4.62 shuttle, and 13 reps on
135-pounds.
Taking home the LB MVP was sophomore
Dylan Reda of San Clemente High
School. Reda, 6-foot-1 and
203-pounds, has great strength and
power, which helps him become a
great run stopping linebacker. He
proved his strength with 28 reps on
150-pounds, along with getting a
5.07 40, 4.50 shuttle, 86 ½ broad,
and 25.5-inch vertical. Also
competing for the LB MVP was Redas
teammate, sophomore Joe Wilson.
Wilson, 5-foot-11 ½ and 170-pounds,
performed very well during the
combine events and proved his
athleticism during the 1-on-1s and
individual drills. He had a 31-inch
vertical, 89 ½ broad, 4.86 40,
4.52 shuttle, and did 15 reps on
150-pounds.
A player deserving special mention
was sophomore DB Monroe Allen of
Citrus Hill High School in
California. Allen, 5-foot-6 ½ and
148-pounds, showed a great
combination of athleticism and
skills. He had a 31.5-inch
vertical, 92 broad, 4.85 40, 4.63
shuttle, and 19 reps on 150-pounds.
With a time of 4.50 in the 40,
sophomore WR Ronnie Hillman of La
Habra High School took home the
Fastest Man Award. Hillman,
5-foot-7 ½ and 169-pounds, also had
a 33.5-inch vertical and 90 broad.
The Freshman MVP went to Brethren
Christians Kevin Anderson.
Anderson, a 5-foot-8 and 163-pound
wide receiver, showed incredible
receiving skills throughout the
session and has impressive
athleticism. He also showed his
athleticism during the combine
events with a 31-inch vertical, 91
broad, 4.70 40, 4.60 shuttle, and 12
reps on 135-pounds.
The final MVP of the first session
went to sophomore DL Chaaz
Flores of
La Habra High School in California.
Flores, 6-foot-0 ½ and 310-pounds,
is a powerful lineman with great
feet. He also had a 5.69 40, 5.25
shuttle, 62 broad, and 10 reps on
185-pounds.
QB'S CONTINUE TO DOMINANT IN THE
AFTERNOON...THE WEST COAST IS THE
LAND OF THE QB!

2007, CARSON, CALIFORNIA
As with the first session in Carson,
California, the second session
Overall MVP went to a quarterback.
Sophomore Anthony Vitto showed the
accuracy, athleticism, and arm
strength to become a big time D-1
athlete, plus he comes from Oaks
Christian High School, home of Jimmy
Clausen. Vitto, 6-foot-0 and
175-pounds, also had a 4.89 40,
32.5-inch vertical, 89 broad, 4.34
shuttle, and did 19 reps on
150-pounds.
The second session was very deep at
the quarterback position, and this
was proven when Co-QB MVPs were
handed out. First up was freshman
Bryan Bennett of Crespi Carmelite
High School in California, who at
6-foot-0 and 157-pounds, already has
great passing skills, accuracy, and
mechanics. He also had a 24.5-inch
vertical, 86 ½ broad, 4.53
shuttle, and did 11 reps on
135-pounds. Sharing the MVP with
Bennett was sophomore Trevor Shubert
of Royal High School in California.
Shubert, 6-foot-1 and 174-pounds,
also possesses great passing skills
and accuracy, plus he showed off
impressive footwork throughout the
session. He also had a 28.5-inch
vertical, 4.85 40, 4.75 shuttle, and
83 broad.
The Freshman MVP and Fastest Man
Award both went to WR Brando Tessar
of Chaminade High School in
California. Tessar, 5-foot-10 and
165-pounds, is a great athlete, has
impressive speed, and has hands of
glue. He consistently caught every
ball thrown his way during drill and
1-on-1s, plus he had a 32-inch
vertical, 87 broad, 4.40 shuttle,
and did 23 reps on 135-pounds. His
award winning 40 time during the
second session was a 4.56. Two
other freshmen who excelled were LB
Frank Sanchez of Sonora High School
and RB David Dash of Fontana High
School. Sanchez, 5-foot-6 ½ and
206-pounds, has great power and
strength for a freshman, and had a
25-inch vertical, 5.19 40, 611
broad, 4.94 shuttle, and 39 reps on
135-pounds. Dash, 5-foot-5 ½ and
160-pounds, had 20 reps on
135-pounds, a 4.80 shuttle, 4.69 40,
88 ½ broad, and 31.5-inch
vertical.
Taking home the LB MVP was sophomore
Mark Haskell of Crespi Carmelite
High School. Haskell, 6-foot-2 ½
and 190-pounds, has fantastic
strength, hips, and footwork.
During the combine events he
finished with 24 reps on 150-pounds,
a 4.76 shuttle, 89 broad, 4.88 40,
and 32.5-inch vertical. Deserving
special mention at the linebacker
position is sophomore Corey Spada of
La Habra High School. Spada,
5-foot-6 and 162-pounds, showed
great athleticism while getting a
31-inch vertical, 4.91 40, 4.61
shuttle, 82 ½ broad, and 11 reps
on 150-pounds.
The battle for the WR MVP came down
till the end, and walking away with
the trophy was sophomore Marlion
Barnett of Santiago High School in
California. Barnett, 6-foot-1 ½ and
197-pounds, has both great
athleticism and hands, and he had a
26-inch vertical, 4.99 40, 86
broad, 4.84 shuttle, and did 17 reps
on 150-pounds. Pushing Barnett the
entire way was sophomore Eric
Pinkins of Inderkum High School in
California. Pinkins, 6-foot-0 and
172-pounds, has great athleticism
and showed this during the combine
events with a 30.5-inch vertical,
90 broad, 4.85 40, and 4.53
shuttle.
The DB MVP went to Rodney Williams
II of Helix Charter High School in
California. Williams, 5-foot-7 and
163-pounds, has both great cover
skills and ball skills, especially
for a safety. He had a 30-inch
vertical, 4.78 40, 89 ½ broad, and
4.53 shuttle.
Winning the OL MVP was sophomore
Chris Sutherland of Peninsula High
School in California. Sutherland,
6-foot-0 and 262-pounds, showed
fabulous technique and movement
skills during both the individual
drills and 1-on-1s. During the
combine events he had a 5.65 40,
4.94 shuttle, 71 ½ broad, and did
18 reps on 185-pounds.
The DL MVP went to sophomore Dereck
Jester of Thousand Oaks High
School. Jester, 6-foot-3 and
213-pounds, has great quickness and
an impressive first step. He also
had a 5.10 40 and 5.00 shuttle.
Winning the final award in Carson,
California was RB MVP freshman
Clinton Johnson of Sacramento High
School. Johnson, 5-foot-5 ½ and
168-pounds, is a spark plug type of
running back who has great lateral
movement and power. He had a
28.5-inch vertical, 4.97 40, 4.53
shuttle, 711 broad, and did 33
reps on 135-pounds.
