2000 Yard Rusher Joshua Wilson of
Montana & 6-6 WR Dennie Jennert
Lead The Charge in Colorado
ROCKY MOUNTAIN SESSION, JUNE 3,
2007, FORT COLLINS, COLORADO
The National Underclassmen Combine
hit the Rocky Mountains for the
first time with a stop in Colorado.
Leading the way was Overall MVP
sophomore RB Joshua Wilson of
Columbia Falls High School in
Montana. Wilson, 5-foot-4 ½ and
166-pounds, was a spectacular
athlete during both individual
drills and 1-on-1’s. He also shined
during the combine events with a
4.34 shuttle, 33 reps on 150-pounds,
an 8’10 ½” broad, 4.56 40, and
35.5-inch vertical.
With Wilson winning the Overall MVP,
the RB MVP went to sophomore William
Still of Basha High School in
Arizona. Still, 5-foot-8 and
162-pounds, used his great hands,
feet, and acceleration to dominate
the competition during 1-on-1’s. He
also had a 4.86 40, 4.79 shuttle,
and 28.5-inch vertical.
Two wide receivers from Glenwood
Springs High School in Colorado
dominated throughout the day, and
walking away with the MVP was
sophomore Dennie Jennert, who has
very good D-1 potential. Jennert,
6-foot-6 and 185-pounds, has amazing
speed and jumping ability, plus very
good hands to match. He also had
32-inches in the vertical, and
touched 132 for the jump reach,
which was a new Combine record. He
added a 9’10” broad and 4.56 40 to
his arsenal. His teammate,
sophomore Connor Riley, was also
very impressive. Riley, 6-foot-2
and 160-pounds, showed great hands
and route running ability, and had a
30.5-inch vertical, 8’10” broad,
4.79 40, and did 10 reps on
150-pounds.
Another Glenwood Springs player who
excelled was QB MVP Dakota
Stonehouse. The sophomore,
5-foot-11 and 165-pounds, has a
great delivery, good accuracy, and
is a polished drop-back passer with
quick feet. He also had a 28-inch
vertical, 4.96 40, 8’4” broad, and
4.52 shuttle.
Joining Glenwood Springs with
multiple award winners was Doherty
High School and Grandview High
School, both from Colorado. From
Doherty High School, Freshman MVP
Jaden Terry and OL MVP sophomore
Matt Oesterle, took home hardware.
Terry, 6-foot-0 and 205-pounds, has
great tenacity and skills for a
freshman linebacker. He had 26 reps
on 135-pounds, a 4.62 shuttle, 8’3”
broad, 4.79 40, and 27.5-inch
vertical. Oesterle, 6-foot-1 and
250-pounds, showed a great
combination of strength, footwork,
and athleticism. He had a 4.82
shuttle, 8’0” broad, 23-inch
vertical, 5.29 40, and 22 reps on
150-pounds.
From Grandview High School,
sophomore Matthew Tucker won the DB
MVP, while sophomore Todd Knight won
both the LB MVP and the Fastest Man
Award. Tucker, 6-foot-0 ½ and
182-pounds, showed a great explosion
to the ball, and has great hips and
athleticism. He had a 33-inch
vertical, 8’11” broad, 4.93 40, 4.51
shuttle, and 17 reps on 150-pounds.
Knight had the award winning 4.55
40, and showed great speed, skills,
and athleticism during the 1-on-1
portion of the event, as he managed
to cover both running backs and wide
receivers like a defensive back. He
also had a 28-inch vertical, 8’4”
broad, 4.55 40, and 21 reps on
150-pounds.
The DL MVP went to sophomore Evan
Kaufman of Newton High School in
Kansas. Kaufman, 6-foot-3 and
239-pounds, continuously showed a
great first step, and was both
explosive and fast. He had a
26-inch vertical, 8’1 ½” broad, 5.14
40, 4.66 shuttle, and did 10 reps on
185-pounds.
Finally, special mention goes out
to offensive lineman Omar Safir of
Lincoln Prep of Missouri. The
sophomore, 5-foot-11 ½ and
246-pounds, showed great footwork
and hand skills throughout the
session, and had a 5.79 40.
