Long Island is Run By a Stud LB Named Miller and a Group of Up and Coming Frosh!
NUC Long Island Writeup
NUC Long Island 5/19/07 -Professional Performance, Garden City, LI & Mitchell Field, Uniondale, LI
While the Long Island area usually doesn’t receive the same recruiting attention as some of its neighboring areas, the football talent continues to improve.  This was proven again as the National Underclassmen Combine recently made a stop in Long Island.

Winning the Overall MVP was sophomore LB Peter Miller of Friends Academy in New York. Miller, 6-foot-2 ½ and 231-pounds, was dominant during 1-on-1’s. He finished with two interceptions, plus he used his size and power to knock five receivers to the ground. He also had a 29.5-inch vertical, 4.70 40, 4.54 shuttle, and 23 reps at 150-pounds.

Making his way from Ohio was Freshman MVP Carl Washington of Eastmoor Academy. Washington, 5-foot-7 ½ and 162-pounds, was fantastic during the positional drills and had a 29-inch vertical, 8’6 ½” broad, 4.74 40, 4.71 shuttle, and 21 reps at 135-pounds.

Though he didn’t win the MVP, deserving special mention was freshman dual-threat quarterback Alik Robinson of Hudson Catholic High School in New York. Robinson, 5-foot-11 and 155-pounds, had a 33.5-inch vertical, 8’11” broad, 4.66 40, and 12 reps at 135-pounds.

The OL MVP went to freshman Michael Lisi of H. Frank Casey High School in New York. Lisi, 6-foot-1 and 248-pounds, showed very good technique during the 1-on-1’s, especially for a freshman. During the combine events he had a 23.5-inch vertical, 5.03 40, 7’10 ½” broad, and 25 reps at 150-pounds.

The freshman domination continued with Anthony Brunetti of Holy Trinity High School in New York, who won the RB MVP. Brunetti, 5-foot-8 and 195-pounds, was very good during both the 1-on-1’s and positional drills. He had 16 reps at 135-pounds, a 30-inch vertical, 4.80 40, and 4.40 shuttle.
